The Strategic Global Growth function is responsible for leading the development of the required infrastructure to enable Expedia’s global expansion efforts. One of our top corporate priorities is to continue growing internationally, particularly in emerging markets, and this position is at the center of these efforts. The Director, Global Growth Initiatives is a critical role in driving the analysis, and development of the organization's strategy across new country entry. You will be working across the Expedia business to develop a deep understanding of local requirements to, ensuring that plans are well planned, communicated and effectively executed.

Reporting directly to the VP Strategic Growth Initiatives, this position will have regular interaction with key leaders and is a great opportunity to work at the heart of a global ecommerce business.
Specific Responsibilities:
In conjunction with VP Strategic Growth Initiatives, define and drive the strategy to facilitate future global expansion
Conduct analysis of EI’s current new country entry approach and develop deep understanding of the issues and build hypotheses and potential solutions for future success
Leverage qualitative and data-driven analysis to drive the evaluation of Expedia global opportunities
Assessment of cross Expedia business cases in conjunction with VP to recommend approach
Facilitate key groups across EI e.g., tax, accounting, legal, finance, Treasury etc.to develop an optimized approach to new country entry implementation.
Development of complex business cases to be presented to Expedia key leaders
Develop strong relationships with senior leaders across the organization and maintain strong partnership with key functions
Build high quality presentations, reports to provide business insights and analysis to key stakeholders – including business overview, strategic development, opportunity assessment and overall performance.
Communicate effectively and persuasively in a business context
Closely monitor, review and analyze the competitive landscape globally and provide recommendations to the VP and EI Leadership to facilitate decision making
Desired Skills and Experience
A bachelor degree or other professional qualification. MBA strongly preferred.
Background in management consulting with a top tier consulting firm and / or exposure to development of business strategy and /or corporate development
Experience in leading strategy project, with direct engagement with senior stakeholders
Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple project and initiatives.
Solid financial modeling skills and comfortable managing big data
Understanding of the following finance and business strategy concepts: Market and competitive analysis; Data Modelling; Financial Analysis; Statistics
Proven Project management skills, with the ability to define, lead and manage the process
Exposure to ASIA and BRIC countries, across, with a highly matrix multinational organization highly desirable.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to influence key decisions
Excellent business acumen, with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
A keen desire to work in a fast-paced environment and embrace a young and energetic culture
Self-starter with a real drive for impact and an entrepreneurial mindset
Familiarity with eCommerce and travel preferred.
