As a member of the Legal and Business Affairs team within the Global Digital Business (GDB) unit, you will be involved in the following:
Negotiating commercial and legal terms, plus drafting digital distribution agreements for music service providers and content aggregators on a local or multi-territory basis.
Advising affiliate companies on local deal proposals and negotiations based on GDB policies, guidelines and strategic objectives.
Participating in calls/meetings with affiliate companies in respect of business development and strategy in their markets.

Working closely with the Sales and Partner Development teams in GDB’s London and New York offices to optimise deal terms and marketing/promotional opportunities for SME repertoire and artists.
Preparing deal memos summarising key elements of deals for approval and sign off by senior management.
Working closely with GDB’s Finance and Operations teams to ensure that partner integrations are completed in accordance with, and that partners are compliant with, reporting and payment terms.
Responding appropriately to digital deal queries from the wider SME business, including labels and artists.
Providing support to GDB’s Anti-Piracy team by acting as liaison between UK labels and IFPI with respect to pre-release leaks.
Person Specifications:
Essential
Firm knowledge and understanding of IP law
Experience within an in-house legal team/environment or law firm
Commercial experience and understanding is of equal importance to legal/contract experience.
LPC Qualification
Qualified solicitor with between 0 and 2 years’ PQE
Drafting and negotiation
Highly efficient/organised
Excellent communication skills
Commercial awareness
Knowledge and interest in digital media and music
Confident
Works well within a team
Ability to work with a wide variety of people with the ability to adapt style accordingly.
