Strong data engineering skills with distributed computing background and proven experience is key to the success. This role is focused on high quality strategy, definition and delivery of big data solutions involving:
Large data ingestion / integration (FLUME / SQOOP)

The role requires a hands-on technologist with deep expertise in Hadoop eco-system for data integration, data storage, compute framework, analytics and advanced visualization. Expertise in data governance for big data space is required with knowledge of various MDM / entity resolution solutions.
As a leader in the data space, the role will lead teams that rapidly learn the client’s current digital eco-system and produce a future data landscape vision and strategy considering the transformation agenda and business goals.
As data engineering practitioner, you should have a point of view and understanding of build vs. buy, performance considerations, hosting, commercial models, business intelligence, reporting & analytics. The role would require a combination of strong consulting, business, strategy, technical and people skills to be successful.
Roles & Responsibilities
Drive large data programs supporting the overall digital transformation journey for our clients
Define and execute strategic roadmap for enterprise data architecture by identifying the current landscape and future business goals
Provide technical leadership and hands-on implementation role for data engineering platforms and support analytics solutions
Carefully consider solutions for high availability, scalability and performance for big data options
Make data modeling and scaling choices for various storage mechanisms like NoSQL & other big data solutions
Guide capacity planning and sizing for big data solutions at scale
Provide technical thought leadership in data space inside and outside the organization
Research and evaluate open source and vendor solutions in the data and analytics platforms space to guide solutions.
Demonstrate the application of distributed learning algorithms where applicable on internal and client projects as well as help evolve internal products with methods in applied machine learning
Build and maintain strong relationships with industry leading ad tech vendors
Help establish standard data practices like governance and address other non-functional issues like data security, privacy and quality
Be responsible for solution and code quality including providing detailed and constructive design and code reviews
Produce analytics solutions based on the business goals and appropriate data visualization to support the goals. Manage and provide technical leadership to large data programs or multiple programs implementation based on the requirement using agile technologies
Define and drive key transformational programs like customer 360 degree view for the clients and integration with various marketing initiatives like personalization, recommendation etc.

Core expertise in data engineering space, specifically big data, driving large data programs for customer engagements & acquisition
Good exposure to data analytics and data science space to use the data to derive insights for business.
12+ years experience in digital
8+ years’ experience in data platforms / engineering in particular with data & integration
8+ years distributed computing background with strong programming background
Excellent understanding of enterprise architecture landscape and the latest development in the space like Social, Mobile, Cloud & IOT opportunities
Expertise in building large data solutions as a service using one or more of the cloud offerings (AWS/Azure/Bluemix)
Understanding Digital data sources such as Open source data (ex: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.), Web log Data (SiteCatalyst, Google Analytics), 3rd party paid data (ex: Acxiom, ACNielsen etc.) and business application data (CRM, Ecommerce etc.)
Well versed with pros and cons of various database technologies like Relational, NO SQL, MPP, Columnar databases
Expert in distributed computing frameworks in data space like Storm and Spark and Hadoop MapReduce
Expert in Hadoop eco-system (Hadoop, Cassandra/HBase, Storm/Spark in particular)
Well versed and experienced with various architectural solution for stream & batch processing like Lambda & Kappa architectures
Knowledge of multi-dimensional modeling like start schema, snowflakes, normalized and de-normalized models
Good exposure to Java EE technologies, scripting languages and JavaScript frameworks, persistence frameworks and ad tech tagging
Knowledge in one of the functional languages like Scala is required
Excellent understanding of domains like retail banking, insurance and telecom
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
