PwC is looking for new Directors within our Insurance focused Finance Consulting team. We are looking for people with skills in Finance transformation and also people with broader technology enabled insurance transformation experience.
Across Insurance, in the UK and EU, there remains increased focus on information transparency within the marketplace, and ever-increasing regulatory requirements. This, alongside the continued need to manage cost, provide management insight, and address the opportunity presented by Digital in Insurance Finance, creates a wide change platform across our sector. Our Financial Services (FS) client base covers a breadth of FTSE100 organisations, across the Insurance and Investment Management (Life and Pensions, General Insurance, Commercial / London Market).
Within this context, we have high growth targets and part of the strategy to achieve this is to bring in experienced hires to help our clients meet the challenges they are facing in the insurance sector.


We deliver high value solutions, from strategy to execution, solving our clients’ complex business problems through technology enablement. These include in overview:

· Finance transformation (operating model, process change, shared services, sourcing, technology enablement etc.)

· Driving value from technology and operations (architecture design of systems and operating model for Insurers)

· Finance systems implementation (ERP, Report tool, Consolidation, information models, data storage etc.)

· Risk and regulatory complexity (regulatory reporting etc.)

· Achieving business insight and achieving business growth

We are looking for dynamic Insurance Finance change leaders – the profile below is broad and we are interested in talking to all candidates who see themselves in this space. Of note, we are interested in both ‘process consultants’ (who focus on Finance Insurance Op Model, Process, Shared Services etc.), as well as ‘technology consultants’, who are experienced in Finance systems and data architecture design and implementation.


About the roleWithin the field of Insurance Finance this is a senior level appointment for a Director to be responsible for:


building relationships with our key Insurance clients;
identifying client needs and proposing solutions to them;
leading the delivery of projects;
developing the careers of the teams working with and reporting to you;
being part of the leadership team in the Consulting I&IM practice; and
<>·maintaining a consistently high and leading edge market profile.

The ideal candidate would be interested in progressing their career to the next level with an aim of becoming a candidate for partnership in an average two to four year timescale.

Essential skills and experience

· Must have extensive experience & network within the financial services and particularly insurance industry;
· Finance Transformation Programme experience. Understand Finance change in Insurance, ideally from strategy through to technology enabled delivery
· Significant knowledge of the Insurance market, across life, non-life, general insurance or London Markets
· Technical experience, including understanding of accounting principles and reporting (e.g. IFRS 4 Phase 2), and regulatory experience, including knowledge of current PRA reporting and Solvency II, would be ideal
· Developed solutions to Finance function challenges utilising significant knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
o Business solution architecture design
o Process redesign
o Finance systems implementation
o Operating model design, including business partnership roles
o Shared Service Centres/ Outsourcing
· Business acumen to identify client’s real business needs which PwC can satisfy;
· First class delivery skills of large, complex and multi-vendor projects;
· Solid and articulate report, proposal and article writing skills to communicate corporate viewpoints on breaking news and technical publications;
· Personal and Professional Development - Committed to seeking and acting on feedback and learning opportunities;
· A track record of sales and delivery within a similar

Desirable Skills
· Business Skills - Understanding our client's business and showing strong commercial acumen in the seeking out of opportunities and the winning of work;
· Delivery Skills - The ability to use our industry and technical skills to better deliver practical solutions that are valued by the client
· Experience of Lean methodologies for process/ cost optimisation
· Familiarity with Systems and data concepts (e.g. Data Models, Datamarts/ Warehouses/ Data Hubs, ERP & EPM systems)
