Amazon is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Procurement Manager to assist the Procurement department in managing all aspects of the purchase to pay process. The role reports directly into the EU Procurement Manager. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the team.
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate requires a minimum of 4 years’ experience in procurement, ideally within an international fast-paced and customer-driven environment. You will be responsible for:
· Proactively leading, executing and supporting procurement activities throughout all phases of new site launches
· Managing a standard catalog of core items across the EU
· Creating and implementing a long term plan and strategy for development of standardization of items/services across the EU
· Supporting the EU Procurement Manager in leading and developing the Procurement Strategy
· Challenging and influencing potential spend, encouraging business justification before initiating Procurement processes
· Championing Procurement process and policy training across the business
· Ensuring adherence to Amazon’s global spend policy and driving compliance to local Procurement policies and procedures
· Maintaining and developing supplier relationships, monitoring performance and feeding back to suppliers through the Supplier Relationship Management program
· Assisting with the development of new processes, procedures and solutions for the purchasing system and identifying any category specific requirements
· Improving lead time performance within the procurement process ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to meet business requirements
· Contributing to the Procurement functions annual savings target
· Analyzing spend to identify savings opportunities using contract negotiation to reach the best commercial terms
· Tracking forecasted vs actual savings for supported categories and communicating performance
· Leading and developing a team of in-country Procurement Specialists
Basic Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Previous Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) experience
· Aptitude for problem solving
· Ability to analyze spend
· Ability to work autonomously and act as a decision maker
· Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels to manage expectations and push back where appropriate
· Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively and accurately, anticipating problems, managing expectations, resolving issues and identifying solutions
· Previous managerial experience
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience of dealing with both internal and external customers/suppliers
· Flexible approach to work
· Willing to travel throughout the EU
· Able to work as part of a team and independently
· Takes ownership of tasks and ability to make decisions
· Fluent/business proficient in English
· Contract and negotiation experience
· Computer literate with experience of Microsoft packages (including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous use of Oracle/Coupa would be advantageous
- French, Italian, Spanish and German language skills would be advantageous
