Job Description

We are looking for a Director level candidate to fill a Lead Developer opportunity in London. The Enterprise Data Management, Information Architecture and Engineering team is responsible for Business and Information Architecture practices, standards, governance and tools used by the World Wide Securities Services division. This includes the:
Metadata management initiative that has delivered significant cost savings in excess of $10m for WSS and currently being adopted across al of WSS and by all divisions in the J.P. Morgan group; and
Model driven development initiative that has successfully completed a proof of concept to auto-generate data integration adapters from business requirements captured in a structured form and related to business capabilities (products, services and processes)
You will join a highly skilled, dynamic, global team of senior developers and architects and will be involved in all aspects of the product/project delivery lifecycle. You must have a proven track record of delivering high quality solutions and have a passion for continuous improvement and investigating new ways of working.
This role would suit developer with experience and a keen interest in language compilers, data integration and metadata driven development to help with the build out of these capabilities.

Function
Contribute to the Developement of the tools & frameworks necessary for the provision of Business & Information Architecture practices and to support the metadata and model driven development initiatives
Assist teams across WSS with adoption of the tools for model driven development and meta data management
Development and support of data lineage harvesters
Development and support of adapters to address Business needs and assist other teams with their adapter development.
Liaise with geographically dispersed technical teams to ensure the automation of the load of data assets
Partner with existing vendor to ensure they meet the needs of J.P. Morgan.
Support of application monitoring with regards to performance and headroom.
Responsibility
Development, deployment and support of the MDR webapps applications
Work on the technical design & specification together with any Vendor and internal JPM project teams, to enable the successful implementation of individual components in support of WSS Projects.
Trouble shoot issues and resolve potential defects in all environments in a timely fashion.
Ensure all component development and implementation satisfies business requirements and provides high quality of deliverables, ensuring all configuration items are developed & deployed according to JPMC standards.
Deliver system test plans & test cases as part of SIT. Work on system integration tests and assure tests are compliance with the JPMC defined testing process.
Actively assist business teams in the timely investigation of defects.
Provide additional support during the initial implementation period (agreed warranty period) to ensure issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
Understanding and work to the JPMorgan version control standard and deliverables as well as their importance for clean and controlled project and change management processes
Adhere to Development Life Cycle, JP Morgan Project Delivery Framework, PLC, IT controls & Change Control policies for all developments ensure business requirements, technical specification and testing documentation are kept up to date.
Supporting the technology aspects of the agile on-boarding of WSS projects.

Essential Skills
Computer Science PHD or MSC.
Java/J2EE
In-depth knowledge of Eclipse
In-depth knowledge of Maven
Database experience Oracle, Sybase, SQLServer.
In-depth knowledge of the Eclipse framework, not just using the IDE
Experience of working with P2/update sites
Experience in building RCP applications/plugins
Experience in developing frameworks and shared services
Experience with automated UI testing
Experience with test automation/test driven development
Experience in building and deploying software using a variety of tools like Ant and Maven
Experience with SubVersion or similar SCM application
Tomcat (application deployments, configuration of new instance and trouble shooting)
Experience in using application frameworks (like Spring)
In-depth knowledge of a wide range of design/architecture tools and methodologies
Experience working within a well audited environment.
Excellent communication skills and experience working with business and end users
Ability to produce high quality work in a pressured environment
Ability to manage prioritization of workload and demonstrate strong time management skills
