Pre-Sales Consultant (Retail Solutions) for Oracle Communications Global BU Oracle - London, Reading or St Albans



Position Summary:

Oracle CGBU EMEA is seeking an experienced Pre-Sales Consultant (Specialist Sales Consultant) with proven experience of retail software based solutions. The ability to work with retailers, both at an end user and senior executive level, to understand business requirements and design solutions to meet the key needs of retailers is key.
As a retail focussed Pre-Sales Consultant for the Oracle CGBU Team, you will be working in a multifunctional team environment, made up of sales managers, technical and functional consultants and integration partners, among others.
This position will establish, execute and take ownership of technical sales support for Oracle Retail’s technology products for the Communications vertical market working with local account directors within the CGBU and counterparts within the RGBU.
The two leading Retail applications established in Communications are:
  • Point of Sale (POS) and
  • Stock Inventory Management (SIM)

Scope
  • Supports retail sales opportunities for Oracle CGBU EMEA.
  • Works in a presales & sales environment on specific opportunities to enhance revenue for Oracle Corporation through license sales whereby independence, responsibility, initiative and teamwork are very important.
  • Contributes to the achievement of a business unit target.
Key Responsibilities
  • Understanding the business objectives of our customers and prospects as well as how Oracle Retail (Merchandise Operations Management) solutions can help to achieve these objectives.
  • Support & maintain pre-sales engagements for the designated products with the EMEA sales teams including driving RFI/RFP efforts as necessary.
  • Establish, execute, support and deliver technical sales of these Retail products within the EMEA region.
  • Crafting, selling, and differentiating Oracle retail solutions based upon communications customer requirements, business pains and value.
  • Presenting and articulating advanced product features and business benefits and the overall Oracle solutions value proposition.
  • Designing, validating, preparing and presenting Oracle software solutions including advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rd party complimentary products.
  • Working jointly with the account manager to manage the sales cycle and people involved effectively.
  • Engaging additional people within Oracle to deliver a compelling proposition to our prospects and customers.
  • Interface with sales and other strategy Go-To-Market leads.
  • Advise and maintain product enhancements arising from sales cycle.
  • Develop success story, and work with marketing to obtain and build out Client Case Studies

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years Retail or CPG domain expertise either within an enterprise application vendor, a systems integrator or with a Retailer.
  • A minimum of 3 years Presales or/and technical account management experience.
  • Good understanding of Retail Range & Space planning and business intelligence and strong experience with Data mining concepts, terms and technologies.
  • Good understanding of gathering customer requirements and aligning these with product capabilities versus customisation and enhancements
  • Good understanding of integration (both system- and user-) concepts, terms and technologies.
  • Experience of the communications sector would be a highly desirable skill.
  • Overall Oracle Technology Architectures & Solutions knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with prospects/customers and partners are essential.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Ability to travel.
