Director - Strategic Relationships Optimisation - GSK - London


Job description

Work closely with the Strategic Relationship Director to optimise the strategic relationship with the external supplier TCS to manage the business performance and effectiveness of this strategic relationship.

The role will focus on driving the operational relationship activities across the book of work with TCS
• By supporting the Strategic Relationship Director and Functional Leads to optimize the strategic relationship with TCS, to manage the business performance and effectiveness of this strategic relationship.

• Creating, maintaining and ensuring the necessary operational processes are fully embedded and improved on a continuous basis to drive the most value out of the relationship
• Ensuring development of best practices and sharing of lessons learned across the relationship

Accountability
A complex global internal and external facing role working with TCS, with responsibility to work with people at all levels of the GSK and TCS organizations

• Lead and project manage the Operational Effectiveness Committee and be a suitable delegate for the GSK TCS Strategic Relationship Director as and when required
• Lead and manage global, cross-GSK/TCS, business improvement activities, to deliver measurable and sustained improvements in the strategic relationship
• Apply, propagate and embed new ways of working and best practice for all business improvement activities undertaken

• Relationship Building
Build effective internal and external relationships with key business partner(s) primarily at an operational level across multiple disciplines including contracting, procurement, finance, metrics, IT, and functional/study operations

• Ownership
Have a “can do” attitude, helping both the GSK & TCS organisations to deliver stretch goals
Ability to flex between approaches and deal with ambiguity while directing others
• Stakeholder management
Build and grow stakeholder networks across the TCS and GSK R&D organisation to promote enterprise thinking and knowledge sharing
• Leadership and Teamwork
Have a programme leadership approach that inspires confidence, buy-in and followership
Influence and drive a significant amount of change at all levels of the GSK and TCS organisation

Key Deliverables Include

• Accountable to ensure effective operations execution across the TCS book of work
• On-boarding of new GSK Functional Teams
• Lead and Project Manage the Operational Effectiveness Committee

• Measure and track quality, performance and the value of the relationship,
• Create solutions/process improvements to enhance the TCS/GSK interface

LI-GSK Bachelors Degree or equivalent with relevant experience.

• Good understanding of clinical development processes,
• Have broad industry view of strategic challenges and opportunities (incl outside R&D)
• Supplier relationship management expertise
• Demonstrated ability to develop effective business relationships
• Strong project management experience (cost accounting, milestone management, stakeholder management, risks)Knowledge of process improvement and ADP/other tools
• Ability to analyze trend and metrics data (especially related to quality and performance) to drive continuous improvement
• Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) and influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation both internally and externally
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with significant change
