Director Consulting Travel & Hospitality Cognizant London

Job Description:
We’re currently looking for a Consulting Director with a strong background in the Travel and Hospitality (T&H) sector in the UK to lead our growing Travel and Hospitality practice, incorporating airlines, tour operators, travel firms and leisure organisations. In this role you will be working closely with the Partner to shape the strategic direction of the practice, develop business, build the team and ensure successful assignment delivery.

You will have the commercial experience necessary to build and develop significant new business opportunities for the practice – focused on the development of senior (C-suite) client relationships in the T&H sector and innovative propositions/service offerings (primary focus on digital transformation).

You will also have a unique opportunity to build a level of eminence in the marketplace that gives you the platform to support the firm’s growth ambitions over the long-term – as well as building a high-performing teams around you to support these growth plans.

To be successful in this role, you will be a subject matter expert (focusing primarily on T&H and digital transformation) leading multiple, high-profile programs and bids, whilst developing innovative thought leadership. You will have the opportunity to recruit the best people, coach and support them whilst driving activity such as proposition development and marketing.

You will have responsibilities for:

• Developing the T&H practice strategy
• Leading and shaping the T&H practice team
• Developing and selling of new propositions/solutions into the T&H sector
• Delivering major business transformation programs
• Leading client relationships and managing key stakeholders
• Guiding, managing and coaching team members
• Leading PMC practice development activities.

Desired Skills and Experience
The key requirements are the following:

• A hunger for success and a passion for the T&H sector
• Relevant experience from an IT or management consultancy
• Proven track record of building consultancy business in the T&H sector
• Strong business development skills across T&H clients
• Network of senior contacts across the T&H sector from which to build a consulting business
• Ability to build a first rate consulting team of T&H project and program management specialists
• A PPM practitioner with a successful track record of program and portfolio delivery in the T&H sector, including airlines, airports, tour operators, travel firms, hotel groups and leisure organisations
• A working knowledge of the business processes (or workflows) operating in T&H organisations
• Commercial awareness in a business environment factoring in external business drivers that may affect delivery
• End to end IT delivery lifecycle experience (Waterfall and Agile)
• Ability to influence, negotiate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• Flexibility to travel across the UK and (occasionally) further.
