We’re currently looking for a Consulting Director in the UK with a strong Media background to lead our growing Media practice, incorporating broadcasters, publishers and information providers. In this role you will be working closely with the Partner to shape the strategic direction of the practice, develop business, build the team and ensure successful assignment delivery.
You will have the commercial experience necessary to build and develop significant new business opportunities for the practice – focused on the development of senior (C-suite) client relationships in the Media sector and innovative propositions/service offerings (primary focus on digital transformation).
You will also have a unique opportunity to build a level of eminence in the marketplace that gives you the platform to support the firm’s growth ambitions over the long-term – as well as building a high-performing teams around you to support these growth plans.
To be successful in this role, you will be a subject matter expert (focusing primarily on Media and digital transformation) leading multiple, high-profile programs and bids, whilst developing innovative thought leadership. You will have the opportunity to recruit the best people, coach and support them whilst driving activity such as proposition development and marketing.
You will have responsibilities for:
• Developing the Media practice strategy
• Leading and shaping the Media practice team
• Developing and selling of new propositions/solutions into the Media sector
• Delivering major business transformation programs
• Leading client relationships and managing key stakeholders
• Guiding, managing and coaching team members
• Leading PMC practice development activities.
Desired Skills and Experience
The key requirements are the following:
• A hunger for success and a passion for the Media sector
• Relevant experience from an IT or management consultancy
• Proven track record of building consultancy business in the Media sector
• Strong business development skills across Media clients
• Network of senior contacts across the UK Media sector from which to build a consulting business
• Ability to build a first rate consulting team of Media project and program management specialists
• A PPM practitioner with a successful track record of program and portfolio delivery in the Media sector, including Broadcasters, Publishers, Information providers and Entertainment firms
• A working knowledge of the business processes (or workflows) operating in Media organisations (e.g. digital production, media/digital asset management)
• An understanding of the IT applications that support the business processes across a Media organisation
• Commercial awareness in a business environment factoring in external business drivers that may affect delivery
• End to end IT delivery lifecycle experience (Waterfall and Agile)
• Ability to influence, negotiate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• Flexibility to travel across the UK and (occasionally) further.
