Job Description:
Requires experience that spans IT Internal Audit, IT External Audit, 3rd Party risk management / assurance, Independent Project Assurance, IT Due Diligence and deep general knowledge of IT risk and control assurance. The successful candidate will have led client delivery in these types of engagement and built client relationships across a range of corporate clients leading to sales. They will also bring with them an existing client network.
The Director Role Covers 3 Key Areas

Business/Client Development – lead client targeting / bids, using existing network where possible, to deliver sales.
People – lead/manage/nurture the team/identify gaps and build technical skills to deliver different propositions.
Technical/Propositions – commercial propositions development, including determining what the team should be selling. Working with rest of Technology Risk Consulting and wider KPMG and binding the offerings together.

Reporting To The Partners, The Technology Risk Director Role Involves

Taking responsibility for (and contributing effectively to) the delivery of existing projects to regional clients.
Leading multiple engagements on a day-to-day basis with assistance of Senior Managers/Managers in the team.
Taking responsibility for the overall output from client engagements. Leading the scoping, financial management, managing delivery risk, production and review of deliverables.
Maintaining contacts with key client staff once a project is complete.
Building and managing excellent networks and client relationships (typically at CIO, CFO or Head of Internal Audit level) across a range of organisations.
Developing the strategy to capitalise on Technology Risk opportunities in this sector.
Demonstrating domain expertise by developing propositions that are relevant for clients.
Leading business development initiatives and be an integral part of the broader Technology Risk Leadership team. In this case, focussing on the development of non-external audit support work.
Actively identifying and progressing business development opportunities, as well as managing sales activities such as responding to RFPs, bid management, proposal writing and client presentations.
Identifying gaps in technical skills and organise/guide training and development for their team.
Coaching and developing team members both as part of our overall Performance Management process or on specific engagements.
Contributing to practice management, e.g. training, knowledge management.
Developing internal networks and maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues across KPMG, but in particular in the wider IT Advisory areas.
Travelling in the UK to different KPMG offices and travelling in the UK supporting client delivery.
Experience and Skills; a combination of the following:
Strong sales focus with evidence of generating revenue in the region of £1.5+ million per year.
Wide industry exposure (Corporates).
Good experience of leading teams.
Proven experience of successfully leading, managing and delivering IT assurance or advisory services to regional clients.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical issues to a non-technical audience.
Sound understanding of risk management in professional services environment.
Sound financial knowledge (although an accountancy qualification is not a prerequisite).
Extensive IT consulting experience is desirable (“Big 4” professional services or IT consultancy ( IBM, Accenture, HP etc.).

Qualifications

Batchelor degree qualification in IT or a first class or 2.1 degree from a leading institution (Desirable).
Other relevant qualifications e.g. CISA, Prince2 (Helpful).
