Job description

Reporting to the Northwest Europe Power Trading Manager, this role is part of the power trading team (currently staffed with a UK Power Trader, a Continental Power Trader, a UK Power Originator, three Power Operators, Power Analysts & Power Structurers).

Responsibilities:

Identify, analyze and develop business opportunities in the Continental European power markets (with a geographic focus on Germany, France, Nordics, Belgium and The Netherlands).
Support driving internal processes around obtaining sign off of complex structured energy transactions (normally involving more than one energy commodity) that will feed into the trading department’s portfolio and be optimized by the trading department.
Maximizing the value associated with existing contracts and structures and will be responsible to contributing towards the team’s profit target.

Desired Skills and Experience

Extensive experience originating Northern Continental Power deals,with a robust understanding of market drive within the energy markets.
Proven ability to generate value for the business
Possessing an extensive network of contacts and counterparties, who you have been deal making with.
Fluent German advantageous but not essential
